GIFMaker - create a GIF from a video or images App Reviews

11 Customer Reviews:

Seriously, if you want to make gifs out of still images, there is no way you can adjust the time length, so every image flashes for a brief moment and that’s that.

Useless with images

The app doesn’t give control over the length of the included pictures. How come someone has developed such a thing?

Wonderful

The perfect tool. I throw a video at it, it turns it into a GIF. As a digital creative, I cannot recommend this enough.

No apparent way to set the frame rate...

There is a box labeled frame rate. However, entering a number in the box has no effect. Other than that, I suppose the app is OK.

Dragged a 4.6mb .mp4 file and it converted it to a 16.8mb GIF. The increase in size is to be expected, so I’m pretty pleased. I love that you can control the framerate (I chose 30) and the size. It makes it easy to see both the pixel dimensions as well as the percentage scale of the original. It’s also pretty fast too, so that’s nice. My only request would be the ability to trim the original video (set start and end frames). Potentially some filesize optimizations by eliminating colors, or suggesting a certain framerate to achieve a certain filesize. All in all, solid app!

Yeeesssss!!!!

I’ve been looking for a good GIF making utility for a while, this is the one! Quick, easy, useful. Thank you to the developer.

Has a bizarrely incompete UI, doesn’t show up in the dock, can’t tab to it, has no file menu. Has no settings that I can find. Can only drag and drop files to it. Output files are ridiculously large. Took a 340k mp4 and output a 22mb gif. Insane.

Works great and quick. Very convenienet to have in the status bar as well. I’d like to see an option to specify loop count however, if possible. Thanks

There’s very little control over the actualy quality and instead you’re left with very pixelated images. You can get better quality with free tools online.

Can’t specify image duration

I tried everything I could think of but nothing worked to let me specify how long each image should be viewed for.
